Never Seen: TV/Film

Though I probably spent most of my life glued to a TV screen, much to my boyfriend’s annoyance, there’s a number of films and programmes I’ve never seen. But surely, I can’t be the only one, who appears to have lived under a rock for the majority of their life. The list is endless, so thought I’d give a few examples – just to see if I’m on my own with this –

  1. The original Jumanji – I’ve been told the gist of the original, in that its based on a board game, and not a video game like the 2017 version. I’ve seen the new which I thought was really good to be fair. I know some people haven’t really viewed it this way. But I think the way that’s it been made relevant to todays fast moving technological world is quite clever.
  2. The Goonies – I can’t even comment to say I have even a vague idea of what it’s about. I know the phrase “hey you guys” is used in it. But that’s about as far as my knowledge stretches.
  3. Back to the Future – So there’s a man, that travels to the future. The band ‘Mcfly’ got the inspiration for their name from this film. The end.
  4. Star Wars – No interest, I have.
  5. Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit – When I was younger, I was always lead to believe you were either LotR or Harry Potter. So the mentality has kinda’ stuck. I know I can watch what I want, but I think I’d be that late to the game and the idea of sitting through it actually bores me. How could I fare with the actual film?
  6. Fifty Shades of Grey – I probably share this ‘never seen’ with quite a few people. But that’s one bandwagon, I don’t want to jump on.
  7. Game of Thrones – My better half loves this show, I don’t know I just don’t feel it’s ever interested me. When everyone was going on about Jon Snow, I genuinely thought the channel 4 news reader from the UK had gained some random burst of popularity overnight. You go – channel 4 Jon Snow!
  8. Breaking Bad – I can’t exactly comment as to why I haven’t, I could even begin to tell you what it’s about to be fair. I’m sure there was something to do with crystal meth?
  9. Walking Dead – Was this one that started off on Amazon Prime or Netflix? I think it was there were a couple of seasons before I’d really heard of it – so I put it to the back of my mind.
  10. F.R.I.E.N.D.S – Okay, so I have seen a couple of episodes. But I don’t know – I didn’t really see the appeal. I know who’s who. I watched the spin-off ‘Joey’ but it’s just something I didn’t actually feel was ‘funny’ yeah – I honestly have a sense of humour…somewhere…

There’s probably 100s and 1000s of others of not seen, but I can’t actually think of them right now, so I’m evidently in no rush to see them!

What ‘popular’ films/ tv shows have you never seen?
What films / tv shows could you recommend to watch?

    1. Glad I’m not the only one! 😊
I don’t know I just don’t find the episodes of friends I have seen as funny…. Producers must have done something right for it to be so successful though!

  1. I’ve never seen a lot of these myself 😂 I have seen Star Wars but I’m not really a fan as such- Star Trek for life! 🙌🏼 I love annoying people when I say I’ve never seen Greece…they’re so shocked normally! 😂 Xx

  2. I’m so glad there’s someone else who hasn’t seen some of the films I haven’t! When I tell my fiancè I haven’t seen some of these like Jumanji and Back to the Future he looks at me like I’ve got two heads or something haha! I have no interest in the old Star Wars films but I have recently started the new ones and they’re pretty good!

    1. The adverts I’ve seen for the newer star wars films do look good, Ive just not got round to watching them 🙈
My fiancé is the exact same – he’s horrified when I’ve said I’ve not seen something, it’s like a criminal offence in his eyes 😂 x

  3. The only two of the above I haven’t seen are The Goonies and Game of Thrones. I tried GoT but just couldn’t get into it really. I’d highly recommend Breaking Bad, Jumanji, Friends and at least give Star Wars a go. I thought I’d hate it but I didn’t!

    1. I’ll probably try the newer ones, I don’t know theres something about the star wars theme that just really irritates me, that I can’t bring myself to watch it 😂 I’m weird I know!

  5. I’m with you on most of these. I’ve never seen The Goonies, Star Wars, LOTR/Hobbit, Fifty Shades, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad or Walking Dead either. I love Friends though, and the Back to the Future trilogy are my favourite films ever!

  6. Omg okay, So I haven’t seen loads of TV programmes but you absolutely need to watch FRIENDS, no debate about it haha! And you have to watch Game of Thrones and the old Jumanji it is a classic! x

    1. I’ve seen some of them but I just don’t understand the comedy of it 🙈 (I have a sense of humour, honest! Haha) I just feel I’ve missed too much GoT to catch up, my attention span is awful so I’d probably watch a couple then spend about 3 months before I watch anymore and forget all about the plot line 😂

  7. I’m a bit shocked you’ve not seen Friends, but that’s just cause I feel like I’ve spent my whole life watching it haha. I haven’t seen a lot of these either – I laughed out loud at the Star Wars one, totally agree! – but Game of Thrones is really good! Breaking Bad was fine but a bit repetitive and overrated in my opinion!

    1. Loads of other people are shocked with that one too. Kinda annoys me over the whole star wars one as the trailers for the new ones look okay. But I dunno if I’d understand without seeing the whole back catalogue! 😂
